Greatest Royal Rumble Becomes WWE's Most Lucrative Event Outside the USA
Taking a megaevent of the WWE to another part of the world seems to have worked well for the company. So much so that the Greatest Royal Rumble has become the most lucrative event outside of the United States in its history.
According to Jerry Lawler, former WWE commentator, the earnings range from 100 to 200 million dollars. However, this is only from ticket sales.
This leaves the path open for event souvenirs. WWE typically earns 30% of its revenue from selling t-shirts and posters to the same fans who attend the show.
Thus, the Greatest Royal Rumble becomes another record-breaking event. It will feature the first 50-man match in WWE history.
The Greatest Royal Rumble will take place next Friday in Saudi Arabia. Triple H and The Undertaker return to the ring after WrestleMania 34.
