Tournament "Gañafote Cup 2023" has started
The sixth edition of the "Gañafote Cup 2023" has started, with the initial presentation of the tournament poster, filled with badges of top teams from around the world, from eight countries and two continents. The event took place at the Faculty of Law of the University of Huelva, where the main collaborating entities were present along with influential people in the sports and society. This year, the tournament's godfather will be David Villa.

The highlight moment was when the initial poster of the tournament was unveiled, showing badges such as Manchester City, Inter Milan, Roma, Porto, Benfica, Marseille, Bruges, Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, Betis, Málaga FC, and Rosario from Argentina. These teams will participate in the next edition alongside Recreativo de Huelva.

According to Gañafote CEO, Joaquín Rasco, "we are facing the best edition of Gañafote" in terms of sports level, and probably one of the best youth tournaments held at a national level.
Interviews with collaborating authorities
During the first part of the event, journalist Manu Suero had the opportunity to chat with the authorities who are closest collaborators of Gañafote Cup. Among them were Joaquina Castillo, vice-rector of UHU; David Orta, deputy mayor of Villablanca, where a preliminary round will be held; councilor Iván Hernández, from the City Council of Almonte; Israel Medina, deputy mayor of Sports of the Cartaya City Council; councilor of Finance of the Palos de la Frontera City Council, Jose Manuel Pérez; Diego Pichardo, mayor of Rociana; María Teresa Flores, councilor of Sports of the Huelva City Council; Pilar Miranda, president of the Port of Huelva; Bella Canales, deputy of Sports of the Huelva Provincial Council; and Carlos Soriano, provincial delegate of the Junta de Andalucía.
The organizing committee presents the project for 2023
Next, the members of the organizing committee, Joaquín Rasco, general director of Gañafote; Víctor Cuevas and Pepe Puntas, coordinators of Gañafote Cup, explained to the attendees the project for 2023, which also involves Miguel Sopuerta from Madrid in the organization. Among the novelties, there will be a social section in the tournament with charity actions, the return of women's football, and the celebration of inclusive and beach soccer tournaments as complementary events.
Moderated discussion with sports and society personalities
Finally, Canal Sur journalist Manuel Jesús Montes moderated a roundtable discussion with people linked to the world of sports and society, such as the president of the Football Federation, former footballers like Jesús Vázquez, the sports director of Recreativo, Dani Alejo; chef Xanty Elías, or communicator Ángel Acién, among others.
