Second forum 'Warriors at 110'
An announcement was made about the second forum 'Warriors at 110', an activity that promotes equality of conditions through the exhibition of success stories of women leaders in their respective areas of work.
The presentation was carried out by Mara Fájer, a member of the organizing committee of the forum, along with Mariana Alvidrez, Social Responsibility manager at Santos, Grecia Ruiz, player of the Santos women's team, and Laura Irarragorri, president of 'Heart Warriors'.
“At Orlegi, we have 98 employees who are women, which is 25% of the workforce. One out of every four leadership positions is occupied by a woman. We are committed to promoting the empowerment of all individuals, so that we can compete on equal terms, creating equitable opportunities in all areas of society, which is reflected in our policies”, highlighted Laura Irarragorri.
Mara Fájer explained that 'Warriors at 110' is a forum that allows you to hear success stories of women from Laguna, whether born or adopted, who have managed to fulfill their dreams and have turned what they once believed to be impossible into something tangible. It started last year as an internal project on International Women's Day and later opened to the community.
“At Orlegi and Santos, we have always tried to take advantage of the platform of football and the attention that media always pays to it, in order to make a positive change in the community. That is why we are bringing this forum on March 21 at 9:00 am at TSM”, she said.
'Dream, Do, Achieve' is the title given to this second edition, with special emphasis on the word 'Do', as it indicates that between the dream and the achievement, the only way to cross that path is by taking action.
There will be five panelists who will tell their stories about how they developed their dreams. They are Mayela de la Rosa, who is the director of Casa del Niño. Bárbara Segura, a multiple taekwondo champion. Luisa Fernanda Villarreal, a 17-year-old writer with some published books.
Kim Tate, International Communications manager at Santos, and Silka Guerrero, founder of Nacer Libre. The aim is for all their stories to inspire both men and women.
Mariana Alvidrez pointed out that the women from Laguna are by excellence warrior women, who make decisions and are agents of change within society. They perpetuate the traditions of a family.
She explained that last year there were 110 attendees at the Auditorium, all of them opinion leaders from different companies and civil organizations, women who have the ability to empower other women.
There were a total of 450 attendees at the 11 university forums held, and they reached 450 thousand people through social media. Grecia Ruiz, a player from Santos, highlighted the relevance that the forum has for women who fight for a dream.
“When I was a little girl, I dreamed of playing professionally and today I am fulfilling that dream. Warriors at 110 is about listening to stories of women who have not had an easy path to success, but have still achieved their goals and dreams. This enriches us as women. Since I arrived in 2017, I have participated in social activities of the Club, and it is a great institution that likes to support people”, she explained.
“We, as women, must support each other, but we also need the support of men to bring out the best version of ourselves”, she added.
Laura Irarragorri also mentioned that Grupo Orlegi has a connection with the community, always working under the motto of winning by serving, as the only option.
