FIFA to resume World Cup ticket sales

The FIFA will resume ticket sales for the World Cup in Russia on Tuesday, for which 1.3 million tickets have already been officially allocated, as stated today by the governing body of world football in a press release.

"1,303,616 tickets for the World Cup in Russia have already been distributed. Sales will resume on Tuesday," the note states.

FIFA specified that, in addition to the 735,168 tickets sold in the first phase, 568,448 tickets have been distributed in the second stage.

Out of that more than half a million tickets, nearly two hundred thousand were purchased by Russian fans, followed by Colombians with 33,048; Brazilians with 24,656 and Peruvians with 21,946.

In addition, Mexicans are in seventh place on this list with 18,155 tickets and Argentinians in ninth position with 15,214.

"With only 94 days left until the opening match, we are very pleased with the progress of sales," commented Fatma Samoura, FIFA Secretary General.

Fans will have a new opportunity to purchase tickets for all matches, except for the final and Argentina-Iceland, from tomorrow until April 3rd.

The last phase of sales will run from April 18th until July 15th, when the grand final will be held at the Luzhniki Stadium.
