Enrique Barzola to represent Latin America at UFC Chile
Peruvian fighter Enrique Barzola will be one of the main representatives from Latin America at the upcoming UFC Chile event on May 19. This will be the first event organized by the octagon company in a Spanish-speaking country in South America.
"My presence is already confirmed. They asked me if I am ready and I said yes. What needs to be defined now is the opponent," said Enrique Barzola to Depor. According to the 'Fuerte', UFC is considering a few possible names, including Mexican star Yair 'Pantera' Rodríguez.
"They are proposing a fight with Yair Rodríguez. We have already accepted, but we are waiting for 'Pantera's' response. I have been seeking this fight for a long time," added Enrique Barzola. Although the 'Fuerte' stated that it is more likely that his opponent for UFC Chile will be English fighter Arnold Allen.
"I believe Arnold Allen is the main alternative. Our first fight was canceled due to visa issues, but in Chile (unlike the United States), he won't have that problem. Both of us come from three consecutive victories in UFC, so it would be a good fight," added Enrique Barzola.
The last time Enrique Barzola stepped into the UFC octagon was on May 20, when he defeated American fighter Matt Bessette by unanimous decision at UFC 220 in Boston.
