Tigers make ticket statement ahead of Sheff Utd match with protests planned

Hull City have issued a statement following concerns that tickets had not gone on sale to supporters for next Friday's home tie against Sheffield United.

With intelligence received by the club that protests are planned for the televised Championship fixture, vice-chairman Ehab Allam warned earlier this week that the game may be abandoned or the team may have to play behind closed doors.

Despite options at their disposal, the club took the decision to allow tickets to go on general sale setting aside the feared disruption after consultation with the Supporters' Committee.

The club issued a statement this lunchtime, with tickets on sale from this afternoon.

After a number of statements made by both the Club and fans’ groups over the last few days, there seems to be a growing consensus that protest activity which disrupts our forthcoming Sky Bet Championship home game against Sheffield United is not what anyone wants.

The Club has at its disposal a number of options to mitigate the risk of disruptive action during the game, such as, not putting tickets on general sale and allowing members only to attend the match, as well as relocating fans from the north stand to the upper west stand.

The Club’s preference was NOT to put those measures in place as we need to have faith in fans to act in a reasonable manner, hoping they in turn have the same faith in us agreeing new Club branding, concession prices and a re-design of the Club's crest that we are currently undertaking together with the Supporters' Committee.

However, we wanted the decision on whether or not we put those measures in place to be made by the fans and as such we asked Supporters’ Committee members to vote on the matter. The committee supported the Club and voted unanimously in favour of the match going ahead as normal.

As a result, tickets will go on general sale at 2pm today and will be available until 6.30pm on Friday 23rd February, with fans able to buy online , in person from Tiger Leisure stores at the KCOM Stadium and from self-service kiosks at the ground and Tiger Leisure Prospect Centre store.

Tickets are priced as follows:

Zone 1: £24

Zone 2: £27

Zone 3: £30
