UTC and León de Huánuco needed a victory. They have 14 and 15 points respectively and are in the last positions of the Torneo Apertura table, trying to escape relegation.
In Cajamarca, they went out for the three points, but it wasn't enough. The first to score was UTC with a goal from Rayan Salazar (11'). It seemed that the 'Gavilán' would change the bad streak of not winning in the last four games against León de Huánuco.
But at 25', Mauro Olivi appeared and equalized for León de Huánuco. And right there, at 32', Gianfranco Espinoza scored the second goal with a header. The 'Fiera' had turned the game around for UTC.
The equalizer for the 'Gavilán' came only at 75'. Their top scorer, 'Pituquito' Víctor Rossel, scored the 2-2 and avoided UTC from losing at home. The point served both of them to move up in the table, but they are still in the red zone.

The Preview
The two times they faced each other this year, León de Huánuco defeated UTC. And actually, the cajamarquinos haven't been able to beat the 'Fiera' since 2013. The last time they won was on November 11 of that year, by 1-0.
Now, the need of León de Huánuco and UTC is the same: to escape from the relegation zone. In the Torneo del Inca, they didn't do well and they are fighting for the last positions in the Torneo Apertura.
After Javier Arce's departure from UTC due to poor results, this Sunday against León de Huánuco, the 'Gavilán' will go for the three points with a new coach. Rafael Castillo took over the position and has a clear goal: to avoid relegation.
"The idea is to keep the team in the professional league. There is a good squad, I think it is perfectly viable," said Rafael Castillo. Against León de Huánuco, he will have his first test.
