Chilean National Team Selector Confirms Arturo Vidal will Stay in Copa America

The Chilean national team selector, Jorge Sampaoli, confirmed that Arturo Vidal will continue in the Copa America despite testing positive in a breathalyzer test after crashing his Ferrari. "He made a mistake that for us is not as determinative to exclude him," said the Chilean selector in a press conference.

Sampaoli acknowledged that if it had been another player with less importance in the team, perhaps they would have been excluded. "Surely, if it was not such an important player for this type of tournament, he would have been sidelined."
