Only three points are left for Santos Laguna to fight for in the Apertura 2017, while its top scorer, Argentine Julio Cesar Furch, is still competing for the title of top scorer and this Sunday against America will have his last opportunity.
With 9 goals to his name, the forward is one goal away from second place, currently held by Aviles Hurtado of Rayados, and two goals away from the leader, Mauro Boselli of Leon.
This is the last call for all three, as well as for Enner Valencia of Tigres and Julian Quiñones of Lobos, who also have 9 goals, so an exciting finale is expected in this dispute.
"I have three more years on my contract, the idea is to continue, mainly to demonstrate in the next tournament that we can fight again to be in the playoffs.

But being the top scorer doesn't console Furch, as not qualifying for the playoffs leaves him dissatisfied.
"The truth is that I don't care much about that (the scoring title), the goals just happened and I'm certainly very happy, seeing myself on the scorers table is motivation for me, as well as my teammates seeing a teammate at the top, I think it's good, but the most important thing is that we didn't achieve what we wanted, which was to reach the playoffs and accumulate a lot of points, that's the reality.
I always say the same thing, what matters is getting the three points, no matter who scores the goals. Although I scored goals, if they didn't help us reach the playoffs, then I'm not completely satisfied."
But that doesn't take away his excitement to face the last match of the regular season, which will be against Miguel Herrera's Eagles.
"The idea is to close in the best way possible in this match against America, if we win, people will leave with that victory, but both they and we know that we didn't have a good tournament and we hope that starting from that match we gain confidence and next year we start in a different way."
Julio wishes to continue with Santos Laguna, he feels that a convincing victory this Sunday would leave the team in good spirits.
"I have three more years on my contract, the idea is to continue, mainly to demonstrate in the next tournament that we can fight again to be in the playoffs, to be up there and obviously accumulate many points so that this team doesn't find itself fighting at the bottom, but at the top," he said.
So all the focus is on that commitment, to have a dignified farewell and achieve three very valuable points for the team against a strong opponent.
"Undoubtedly, America is one of the biggest teams in Mexico, their fans are among those who fill the stadiums the most, maybe we should take it as just another game due to it being the last match and the obligation to win, and do our job, do what we have to do," he said.
