Peru's National Team
This selection led by Ricardo Gareca has achieved something unseen for a long time: gaining the trust of the Peruvian people. A clear example is the latest poll published by Ipsos Peru. In the opinion survey, support for the 'bicolor' is evident and the majority of respondents expect Peru to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
According to the survey published in El Comercio, 91% of respondents believe that the Peruvian national team will achieve qualification for the World Cup this Wednesday against New Zealand. Meanwhile, 6% do not trust the qualification, while only 3% do not know or prefer not to give their opinion.
Furthermore, 87% of the population trusts that Peru will win the decisive match on Wednesday. 10% believe it will be a draw, and 2% believe Peru will lose. Regarding this question, those who do not know or do not have an opinion account for 1% of the interviewees. Finally, when asked about a possible participation in the World Cup, 30% expect a regular campaign, 43% believe it will be good, and 25% expect it to be very good.
The mentioned survey was conducted with a sample of 435 people between November 1st and 3rd, one week before the first leg of the playoff in Wellington. With a few days left until the final match, let's hope that the support for our national team continues and helps the players achieve that long-awaited qualification that has eluded us for 35 years.
