A base de una mayor experiencia, Cristian Mijares defeated Jesús "Víboro" Arévalo by unanimous decision in the main fight held last night in Campeche, positioning himself towards a possible eliminatory for the super featherweight world championship.
In the first round, two boxers with contrasting guards faced each other. Arévalo came out aggressively, targeting Mijares' liver as he walked backwards.

Jesús "Viboro" Arévalo came out determined to knock out Mijares in the second round. Mijares, faithful to his style, relied on his footwork and counterattacked. A couple of uppercuts shook Arévalo's face, but he did not back down.
In the third round, Arévalo's left hook punished Mijares.
In the fourth round, Arévalo's 1-2 combination efficiently punished Mijares, who remained leaning on the ropes with little response, almost motionless.
In the fifth round, Mijares unleashed a flurry of punches, causing the "Viboro" to bleed from the bridge of his nose. Mijares utilized his greater experience to control the distance.
Cristian's jab was crucial in winning the round. In the eighth round, Arévalo invited Mijares to engage in a brawl. Mijares decided to attack, launching a storm of punches against Arévalo, who held on and was saved by the bell while staggering. In the penultimate round, a physically diminished Arévalo attempted to move forward, but without any clear strategy.
In the tenth round, Mijares played it safe and maintained distance to secure the victory. Mijares won by unanimous decision, his ninth consecutive triumph.
