Back to Real Madrid
Last summer, after his loan spell in Germany due to Pepe's departure, young center-back Jesus Vallejo returned to the European champions with hope and the objective of earning Zinedine Zidane's trust. The 20-year-old player admitted during his presentation, "To give my utmost. To try to help the team. I don't have individual goals, but collective ones. Football is about each player giving their all for the team."
However, until now, the player has not been able to enjoy any opportunities. The reason is none other than the physical problems suffered during the preseason, which have even prevented him from making his debut. Out of the 12 official matches played by Real Madrid, the player has not been called up in ten occasions. Out of these, eight are due to physical issues.
Thus, having only sat on the bench twice (matches against Levante and Español at the Santiago Bernabéu), Vallejo is the only player in the first team who hasn't played a single minute yet, after Achraf debuted in the last league game against Espanyol.
Called up to the Spanish U21 team under Albert Celades, the player will have the opportunity to enjoy his first minutes of the season in the match against Slovakia on October 10. With the physical problems of Theo Hernandez, Marcelo, and Dani Carvajal, his recovery becomes crucial to contribute his part to Real Madrid.
