Cafetaleros Tapachula Announces Gabriel Caballero as Their Coach
The Cafetaleros de Tapachula have announced that Gabriel Caballero will be their coach again with three matches already concluded in the Apertura 2017 of the Ascenso MX.
The Chiapas team, who dismissed Francisco Ramirez and his coaching staff a day earlier after three consecutive defeats, brings back the Argentine strategist, whose first period with the club was from 2015 to 2016.
After his time with Dorados de Sinaloa, with whom he lost in the recent promotion final against Lobos BUAP, which resulted in not renewing his contract, he will take over the team, which currently sits in last place in the overall standings after three games.
Welcome back Gabriel Caballero!

When he retired in 2009, Gabriel decided to try his luck as a coach, but initially it didn't go very well with the Tuzos, as the lack of experience was noticeable, so he had to leave the bench of his beloved team. However, Caballero was given a new opportunity in the Ascenso MX, with Cafetaleros de Tapachula. Despite reviving a team that was at the bottom of the table and facing relegation problems, his objectives and those of the board no longer aligned, which was enough reason to not continue leading the club.

"I arrived at a team that was last with three points and six points away from the second-to-last position with relegation problems, with a team that was truly dead; we had the possibility to lift the spirits, to work on the mental and football aspects. The team qualified for the playoffs, but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Juarez, who became the champion (Apertura 2015); in the second tournament, we had a great championship and finished third, but this doesn't matter, because there were many things I disagreed with in the way they were handled, and it opened doors for other options," expressed Caballero in an interview with La Aficion.
