Christofer Gonzales did not have a good start to the season in his return to Colo Colo. While he started as a substitute in the two Copa Libertadores matches, he only played eight games, accumulating 260 minutes in the Clausura Tournament in Chile. The result? One goal and few chances to show himself on the field to gain continuity.
The Peruvian midfielder faced a setback by occupying a foreign player spot, and now his future is uncertain. While he still has a contract until the end of 2018, Depor spoke with the member of the Football Commission of Colo Colo, Pablo Acchiardi, who spoke about 'Canchita's' future with the 'Cacique'.
"As you know, Christofer still has a valid contract and the truth is that until we resolve the signings for this semester, we do not plan to release any players. That is what I can tell you for now," said Acchiardi, a club official, over the phone from Santiago, Chile.
Later, the club official added: "Indeed, we have talked with Guede about his priorities for this season and about which players can continue. However, we cannot release this type of information yet, since the coach must talk to them before it becomes public through the press."
Colo Colo begins its preseason on June 19 and by that date it must have the squad formed.
