If you still have doubts about how the collaboration between Televisa and TV Azteca was given to broadcast the first leg final between Tigres UANL and Chivas de Guadalajara, valid for the Torneo Clausura 2017, here we tell you what happened.

How was the collaboration created?

By the complete initiative of Televisión Azteca, the broadcasting rights of the fight between Saúl Canelo Álvarez and Julio César Chávez Jr, which they exclusively had, were offered to Televisa so that they could also broadcast it under the same criteria (that is, delayed and with extended commercial breaks to generate more income).

What was the result of the first agreement between TV stations?

It was a success in terms of audience. Canal 7 averaged 17.9 points from 10:00 to 11:30 at night, and 22.0 points from 11:30 until the end of its broadcast; Televisa's Canal 2 had 13.1 and then 15.9 rating points in the same time slots as its competing channel.

The shared signal for Tigres vs. Chivas

After the agreement following the 'Canelo' vs. Chávez fight and the success in terms of viewers, it is now Televisión Azteca's turn to receive attractive broadcasting rights that they did not have before, as the last team that remained alive from the ones that had exclusive agreements, Xolos de Tijuana, only reached the semifinals.

If the signal for the second leg on Sunday, May 28, is opened, would it be strange to think that Azteca and Televisa would also broadcast it?
