Barcelona pays tribute to Lionel Messi's 500th goal
On Sunday, Lionel Messi scored his 500th goal with the Barcelona shirt during the match against Santiago Bernabeu (2-3). As a tribute, the Catalan club will honor the Argentinean player before Wednesday's match against Osasuna at Camp Nou (19:30 hours).
According to the club, a banner will be displayed on the side of Camp Nou, in front of the tribune area, just before the game starts.
This gesture aims to celebrate Messi's achievement, making him the player with the most goals scored in the history of the Catalan club for the past five seasons.
The content of the banner, which has not yet been revealed by the club, intends to commemorate the 500 goals Messi has scored in the Liga (343), the Champions League (94), the Copa del Rey (43), the Spanish Super Cup (12), the Club World Cup (5), and the UEFA Super Cup (3).
