They have been scoring a lot against us, so for us it's a great opportunity to seek revenge, to end this negative moment in terms of results and to close the tournament in the best possible way," Vikonis said.

During a press conference at the end of the day's work at the "Los Olivos" Sports Complex, the Uruguayan goalkeeper admitted that the idea of starting against the bluecreams motivates him, but he knows that there will be a fierce and fair competition with Moisés Muñoz, where the most important thing is to contribute to the cause.

"The important thing is to try, whoever plays, to give our best, obviously as a player I have the desire to play because, first of all, it's a moment where I want to help the team because we are going through a difficult situation. I think we all need to give our best to turn things around, and secondly, because obviously América is a team of great quality and as an athlete, you always want to face this type of rivals," he said.

When asked about the main reason why the team fell dramatically and thus abandoned their dreams of fighting for the playoffs, Vikonis stated that from his perspective individual errors were key, as the cumulative effect of these errors resulted in collective failures.

"This negative streak we've had, after the match in Monterrey where we arrived with a good points haul, is what has put us in this uncomfortable situation, practically eliminated. I think in each individual match, which we can also analyze individually, we failed in certain situations that ended up causing the defeat," he pointed out.
