Statement from Diana Gonzales

"One of the reasons that greatly encouraged me to accept this candidacy is that this year the control entity was overseeing the federation (FPV), since February, for a period of six months, during which the entire period of Luis Linares was reviewed and I definitely found great progress. I came to Lima with the Casa de la Pradera project, for the recruitment of national teams in 2008, and today I can see that a lot of progress has been made," explained Diana Gonzales on CMD.

"We want to continue on the same path, continue progressing, but with the necessary training," she added. When asked about her age, being a young federation president, she responded: "I believe that everyone's clock is very different. My brother taught me that God's timing is perfect and if today I have the opportunity to assume this position, it is for a reason. When I went to the United States, I didn't have the certainty to do it, but I did have the commitment to return and serve my country through volleyball, which has given me so much," she said.

Diana's Achievements

Diana was part of Natalia Málaga's first 'matadorcitas' group. She played as a setter in the youth team. In addition to the bronze medal in Singapore, she was also part of the team that achieved sixth place in the 2009 Thailand World Championship.
