The Peruvian women's under-20 volleyball team lost on Saturday to the Mexican team in the World Championship, leaving no chance of reaching ninth place in the tournament.
The national team fell 3-2 to the host team, unable to maintain the lead they built at the beginning of the match.
The team coached by Natalia Málaga won the first two sets 23-25 and 20-25, but the locals recovered forcefully (25-17, 25-12, and 15-10) to secure the victory and place among the top ten representatives of the competition.
In this way, the 'matadorcitas' will face the losers of the match between Argentina and Serbia for eleventh place in the FIVB Women's Under-20 Volleyball World Championship, held at the Domo de la Feria de León in Guanajuato.
