PREVIEW:
79 years have passed and the Peruvian volleyball team continues to lead in the Bolivarian Games. This year will be no exception, so it is vital to start on the right foot. Today (4:00 pm) we will have our debut in Santa Marta against Bolivia.
With ten gold medals around their necks and being the only historic champions in this tournament, the 'matadoras' go out with confidence to extend their winning streak. And, if that weren't enough, they have it easier than other disciplines.
► Bolivarian Games: schedule of the U23 volleyball team in Santa Marta
The Peruvian team will face five teams - out of the 11 participating delegations in this edition - at the Municipal Coliseum. It will be in a round-robin format and Peru is the favorite.
Especially on the first day, when they face Bolivia. In ten editions, our rival has only won two medals: one silver (1973) and one bronze (2009).
Ángela Leyva and coach Luizomar de Moura arrived in Colombia this weekend and have already joined the team. With the experience of a month playing in the Brazilian league, the 'capi' arrives refreshed to wear the Peruvian colors.
