Benfica draws away in Paços de Ferreira

Benfica drew away in the match against Paços de Ferreira, which keeps them in first place with a two-point advantage over Porto, who will play against Vitoria de Setúbal on Sunday in their corresponding match of the twenty-sixth round.

The first half passed without goals and without much action, although Benfica had the best chance with a good shot from Eliseu that hit the post.

In the second half, Paços de Ferreira's beavers were more assertive and put Ederson's goal in danger, especially with a free-kick by Brazilian forward Welthon that hit the crossbar.

Benfica kept trying but couldn't find the back of the net, so with nine minutes to go, Rui Vitoria decided to bring in Mexican forward Raúl Jiménez, who replaced left back Eliseu.

On the other hand, Paços de Ferreira, accustomed to fighting for European spots in previous championships, earned a valuable draw to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

After the break next week, all eyes will be on the match between Benfica and Porto on April 1st at the Estadio da Luz, where a significant portion of the chances to finish top of the Portuguese league will be at stake.
