Government of Coahuila invites recreational cyclists to the second edition of the Bicycle Ride and Helmet Blessing to the Sanctuary of the Lord of Jimulco
The Government of Coahuila, in coordination with the Municipal Sports Institute and the Eco-Cycling club, invites all recreational cyclists from the region to the second edition of the Bicycle Ride and Helmet Blessing to the Sanctuary of the Lord of Jimulco, which will take place on Sunday, March 19th.
The ride will start at 8:00 am, departing from the Green Line in Torreon, passing through Viesca, Matamoros, a part of Durango, until arriving at the Jimulco Canyon.
The supply points are in the communities of San Isidro, La Ventana, Juan Eugenio, Jalisco, La Trinidad, Jimulco, and Flor de Jimulco.
It was announced this Wednesday afternoon by Pedro Belmonte, head of Eco-Cycling, who was accompanied by Alina Garza Herrera, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, and Neo Garcia, representative of the Government of Coahuila.
The ride is organized with the intention of helping rural communities, covering 80 kilometers that aim to showcase the natural beauty of the municipality of Torreon, away from the urban area.
In 2016, 650 cyclists participated, and it is expected that this number will increase in 2017.
Registration costs 200 pesos before March 8th, and 250 pesos afterwards. Registrations can be made at the most prominent Cycling stores in the Lagunera Region.
It includes a commemorative jersey, water and fruit supplies, sweepers, ambulances, recovery kits, raffles of items and bicycles, as well as food at the end.
