El juarense Irvin Cuevas won gold at the International Open Jiu Jitsu Championship, held at the National Center for High Performance in Mexico City; a competition that brings together the best exponents of the discipline in the world.

On his way, he faced Joel Félix, whom he defeated with an armbar, despite his opponent's initial advantage.

In the final, he prevailed over Diego Hernández, despite his initial advantage with scores of 6-4 and 2-2.
