Ernesto Boardman shows seriousness in his intention to qualify for the Olympics

Ernesto Boardman demonstrated at the National Archery Tournament that his intention to qualify for the Olympics is a serious matter. The archer defeated Iván González, while the bronze medal went to Jorge Nevarez, from Nuevo León.

"My first goal in this National Tournament was to advance to the round of the top 16, and the second one was to become the national champion. Both goals were achieved and I am very happy. Now we must work to be among the four who will compete in the World Cups and then, among the top three for the World Championship to be held in Mexico City in October. The fact that this world competition is an extra motivation obliges us to work and train harder to achieve better results and why not win medals," stated Boardman after winning the national title.

Gabriela Bayardo takes the gold medal in women's category

In the women's category, the winner of the gold medal was Gabriela Bayardo from Baja California, who defeated Alejandra Valencia from Sonora in the final. Meanwhile, Aida Román had to settle for the bronze medal.

"I am very happy because as the tournament progressed, I was shooting better. The goal was to enter the pre-selection, which happened on Thursday, and now I became the national champion. I felt good, and I know I can improve my level for future competitions," mentioned Bayardo.

Julio Fierro takes the title in the Compound Bow category

In the Compound Bow category, Julio Fierro from Jalisco obtained the title at the National Tournament by defeating Miguel Ángel Espinoza from Tamaulipas in the final. The bronze medal went to Adolfo Medina from Jalisco. Thus, in this sector, new figures are emerging who could potentially surpass veterans like Juan René Serrano and Luis Álvarez.

Kathya Sofía Rodríguez becomes national champion in the women's category

In the women's category, Kathya Sofía Rodríguez from Nuevo León became the national champion. The silver medal went to Rosalía Domínguez from the National Polytechnic Institute, and the bronze medal went to Rosa Hilda Maciel from Jalisco.
