Coach of Milan takes charge of the low level of the Colombian but leaves the door open for him to leave the team for the match against Lazio
The last time Carlos Bacca scored a goal was almost a month ago, on January 16th. Since then, the performance of the Milan forward has been in clear decline and criticism has increased exponentially. That is why Vincenzo Montella came out to relieve pressure on the Colombian and took responsibility for his bad moment: "He is an important player and my task is to make him perform at his best. If that doesn't happen, I feel responsible. In the past, he did much better."
However, despite the public support after the snub the player had made to him last week, the coach did not want to anticipate whether the attacker will start in the match this Monday against Lazio. Because the reality indicates that the coach is seriously considering the possibility of leaving the Colombian out of the starting eleven and even considers two alternatives to replace him: placing Gianluca Lapadula in the center of the attack or using Gerard Deulofeu or Lucas Ocampos as a false nine.
"Lapadula is a warrior, he always gives 101%. But I see him a little low in terms of physicality. Regarding the false 9, I don't know Deulofeu and Ocampos as well. The important thing is to use a strategy to win, the rest is secondary," explained Montella in a press conference.
