Athletic sports brand files a lawsuit against Correcaminos Ascenso MX team
The Athletic sports brand has filed a lawsuit against the Correcaminos Ascenso MX team for a debt of nearly two million pesos in uniforms and products, as reported by the Extremo Deportivo portal.
The brand filed the lawsuit on January 12, demanding payment from Correcaminos for invoice COA0000002081 dated August 31, 2015, with a tax code of 3B284904-4E36-4F18-AE3D-47EC753914FE, which expired on October 29, 2015, according to the cited source.
The filed document states that Athletic fulfilled the delivery of the products in a timely manner, which is why they are requesting that the orange team pay the outstanding debt.
The document also states that Correcaminos made three payments, the first one being 103,716 pesos and 60 cents on March 10, 2016, the second one being 111,438 pesos on April 21 of last year, and the last one being 99,067 pesos and 20 cents on May 13, 2016, leaving a debt of 1,810,000 pesos and 80 cents.
In the Apertura 2015, Athletic would no longer be the sponsor of Correcaminos, as then president Manuel Corcuera Canseco decided to switch to Lotto.
An age-old conflict
The sports brand has had clashes with the Ascenso team, as the latter has sued on several occasions for non-compliance with uniforms being delivered on time for previous tournaments.
"Athletic has let us down once again," said former sports director of UAT, Manuel Campo Filizola, during the presentation of Paraguayan player Derlis Coronel Agüero, prior to the Apertura 2013.
