Miracle Comeback for the Patriots

While the Patriots story is about their miraculous comeback, the Falcons are talking about a stunning collapse that gives the team a 0-2 record in Super Bowls, making them one of the 13 teams that have never been champions.

"Our players fought hard. We weren't surprised, we just couldn't finish like we were capable of doing," explained Dan Quinn, the head coach of the Falcons.

The Falcons scored 28 points in the Super Bowl, slightly below their average, but the details ended up costing them the game. One of them was the poor execution on third downs: 1 out of 8.

"We definitely didn't perform well on third downs. Defensively, we managed to stop them twice in this situation, but our offense failed. We didn't fulfill that responsibility and it cost us," continued the Falcons head coach.

The quarterback, Matt Ryan, who threw for 284 yards with two touchdown passes, didn't hide his disappointment at falling short after having a 28-point lead in three quarters.

"We did good things, obviously the first drive of the second half didn't go well for us, but then we scored well. That was a solid drive. But we made mistakes at crucial moments that kept us from victory," said the Falcons quarterback.
