Bullfighting in Mexico

Spanish bullfighters Morante de la Puebla and Julián López 'El Juli' shared the triumph today at the bullfight for the 71st anniversary of the Monumental Plaza de Toros México, each cutting two ears.

Morante and "El Juli" alternated with the young bullfighter from Aguascalientes, Luis David Adame, who confirmed his debut with a discreet but dedicated performance, which did not earn him any trophies in the end.

All three matadors fought a bull from the ranch of Teófilo Gómez, which had a regular physical presence and a very irregular and complicated behavior at times. At the end, a bull from Fernando de la Mora was released, but it was not impressive.

Morante de la Puebla fought "Ramaliego", weighing 510 kilos, a bull with little movement and play, which the Spanish matador could not fully showcase due to its poor conditions for performing. After a short performance, he left in silence.

With his second opponent, "Muchacho", weighing 552 kilos, Morante improved throughout all three stages of the fight, with an emotional, tempered and tasteful performance, true to his unique style, full of details and artistry. After his brilliant performance, he killed the bull with a single sword thrust, earning him two ears.

Julián López faced "Abuelo", weighing 512 kilos, with whom he executed a varied and impressive performance, taking advantage of a well-behaved bull from start to finish. However, he ruined it all with the sword, and received an ovation in the end.

With his second bull, "Don Marcos", weighing 513 kilos, "El Juli" improved his previous performance with a creative and inventive bullfight, against a cooperative bull that allowed him to fully showcase his skills.

After a laborious and courageous effort, Julián López sealed his performance with a high-quality sword thrust, earning him two well-deserved ears and a triumphant exit from this magnificent anniversary bullfight.

The afternoon began with Luis David Adame and "Cántabro", weighing 476 kilos, the bull for his debut confirmation. Despite the bull's good behavior, the young bullfighter from Aguascalientes was not able to make much of an impression. He ended with some failed attempts and received applause from the crowd.

With "Cervecero", weighing 534 kilos, the young Adame once again felt the pressure of sharing the ring with two world-renowned matadors, which overshadowed his performance. He failed to kill the bull and left in silence.

In an attempt to at least showcase his abilities, Adame offered "Encinillo", weighing 549 kilos from Fernando de la Mora, but unfortunately, the bull prevented him from leaving a strong impression. He ended in silence with a warning from the bullring.
