Athlete expresses concern over US immigration policy
The Somali-born athlete voiced his dissatisfaction with the decree signed by the new American president to prohibit entry to people from Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen. This is intended for "the protection of the nation from foreign terrorists."
The Olympic medalist spoke out through his Facebook account, as the uncertainty of whether he will be allowed entry or not worries him. "The Queen made me a Sir, on January 27th, Donald Trump turned me into an alien."
Mo Farah clarified that he is a British citizen who has been living in the United States for six years and that he is a taxpayer. He does not know what to tell his children about not being able to return home.
