Second edition of the National Porsche Sailing Cup 2017 to be held in Chapala

Candles will be raised again in the waters of Chapala, as for the second consecutive year the Chapala Yacht Club will host the 2017 National Porsche Sailing Cup, an event that will bring together about 250 sailors.

This event, which will be the first competition of the year of the 2017 Mexican Sailing Circuit, will take place on February 24, 25 and 26. The Optimist, Laser STD, Laser Radial, C420, RSX, Bic Techno 293, Cabineros and J70 classes will compete.

In addition to competing within the country's most important lagoon, another incentive for sailors is that the results of this competition will be valid for the national ranking in the different categories and participating classes.

As an additional benefit for competitors, their knowledge will not only be empirical while competing in each race, but they will also have the opportunity to learn within the "Unlocking The Race Course" conferences, which will be taught by great personalities of this sport: Greg Koski, Chuck Skewes and Bryan Paine, outstanding international sailors who will be sharing their knowledge with the new values of Mexican sailing.

In this second edition, the Mexican Navy will participate, with around 100 of their sailors competing in Chapala's waters on different boats.

Fun Fact:

250 sailors will arrive in Chapala.
