Last Monday, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was involved in an altercation at London's Heathrow airport. The Swiss player of Albanian descent was questioned by the police for allegedly calling a British Airways flight attendant a "p... w... c...".
But besides having to answer the authorities' questions, Xhaka has also had to respond to his coach, Arsene Wenger, who is considering taking action, as reported by the 'Daily Mail'. The French coach, who was waiting for him in the locker room upon his arrival at the training sessions, wanted to hear the player's version to gather information before deciding whether to punish him or not, as the club has a code of conduct that all employees, including players, must follow and racist comments are not tolerated.
All this happened in a week when the coach himself was sent off for pushing the fourth official while protesting a referee's decision. We'll have to wait for Wenger's verdict regarding Xhaka, as Arsenal doesn't play until Saturday. They will play in the FA Cup, away against Southampton.
