Remembering Luis Lauro Castañeda Alvarado
It was in the town of Nazas, Durango, where the former Santos Laguna player, Luis Lauro Castañeda Alvarado, is remembered with gratitude.
Castañeda played in the 90s with the Santos Laguna First Division squad.
Alongside Daniel "Travieso" Guzmán, Héctor Raymundo Adomaitis, Antonio Apud, Benjamín Galindo, Pedro Muñoz, Marcelino Pérez, Óscar "Rambo" Torres, among others, under the orders of Pedro García and Rubén Matturano.
He made his debut in the First Division with Santos, at the Bombonera stadium in Toluca, under the orders of Chilean coach Pedro García.
The stadium in Nazas, Durango, is named "Lauro Castañeda", who was born on October 6, 1972.
Castaño was discovered by Santos technical staff in Cuencamé, where he played for the Nazas team.
On December 22, a match between former Santos Laguna players and a team from Nazas Durango was held to remember the former player, an event organized by his brothers.
Among the participants were Saúl Rosales, Christian Elizalde, Mario López, Carlos Lira "Chano", Juan Villalón, Héctor Montañez, Severo Hernández, "Rifle" Vizcarra, Saúl Quiñones, Ernesto Contreras, Alfredo Lira, Didier, Hernán "el ganso", Jesús Yañez all commanded by the Warrior of Honor José Guadalupe Rubio.
After the friendly match, the players signed autographs for the children in the community.
