Next December 11, the third edition of the ride to Jimulco Canyon will start, in which the participation of 700 cyclists from La Comarca Lagunera is expected.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Torreón, through the Municipal Sports Institute and the Department of Social Development in this city and will be for the benefit of children from low-income families.
The route will be from the Green Line in Torreón to the community of El Barrial de Guadalupe in Jimulco, covering a total of 100 kilometers.
The details were announced on Wednesday morning at a press conference led by Fernando Villarreal, coordinator of SEDESO in Torreón, who was accompanied by Alina Garza Herrera, head of the Municipal Sports Institute and leaders of local cycling clubs.
The ride will start on December 11, from 8:00 hours at the Green Line, in Paseo Tecnológico and avenida de Los Metales.
There will be four groups, the first one for Elite, which will go at 35 kilometers per hour, the second at 30, the third at 25, and the fourth group at 20 kilometers per hour. There will be 7 supply points.
The participation of cycling clubs from the region such as Laguna MTB, Laguna Bikes, and Cardenche is expected.
Registrations cost 150 pesos and can be done in practically all the cycling stores in the city of Torreón.
One of the objectives, in addition to helping charitable causes, is to promote the beautiful landscapes of Jimulco Canyon to the people of Torreón.

There will be an alternate route of 20 more kilometers on dirt roads and along the bank of the Aguanaval River.
