Amadeo Zazueta joins Mexican baseball team for exhibition games against Japan
With immense pride, Amadeo Zazueta reports today with the Mexican baseball team that will play two exhibition games against Japan next week. Although initially the Charros management did not want to give permission to the shortstop, as Japhet Amador and Agustín Murillo fulfilled the agreement to lend only two players per team, in the end they agreed and the player will be wearing the green in the coming days.
Aware that Jalisco will miss not only him but also his two teammates, Amadeo hopes that the players who replace them this week give their maximum effort to move the team forward.
"I'm very happy to have been called up to the Mexican team, it's a shame but I have to leave Charros these days, I hope they continue to win and there are three of us going, hopefully the guys who come in give their maximum effort and everything goes well for them."
Being born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, he knows the importance of the commitment on November 10 and 11 against a powerhouse like Japan, where he will seek to earn a spot for the World Baseball Classic to be held in March next year in Guadalajara.
"It's one of the greatest prides I have ever felt in my life, I think it's something very beautiful, it's something you play for, right now I represent Jalisco but representing Mexico, imagine that, something bigger. The stage where we're going to play is incredible against one of the most powerful teams in the world, we're going to try to fight with everything and try to represent Mexico in a positive way."
With a batting average of .298, Zazueta has been one of the key players for Charros to have a winning streak of four series. The player hopes that the team will continue to improve, although he knows that the other clubs will also strive to excel.
"Happy with the progress, with our heads held high, we're fighting, it's positive to keep adding points. We go out to fight every day, to win, the other teams do the same and sometimes there are negative or positive streaks, we got caught in a good streak and we hope to continue like this."
