Christian "El Chaco" Giménez seeks to become the Ryan Giggs of La Máquina Cementera as he has offered himself as an assistant coach and player starting next January.
According to sources close to Cruz Azul, it has been revealed to La Afición that the Argentine-Mexican wants that position and wants to help the team get out of the slump it has been in recent years.
Giménez offered to be the new celestial helmsman's assistant, however, he set a condition and that is to be approved by the majority of the members. Without meeting this condition, his offer would not be possible.
The attacking midfielder's contract with La Noria team ends in December, however, despite his maturity, he has been one of the most valuable players and wants, as he has stated, to retire with the cement team which is his love.
Currently, the experienced player, who turns 36 in February, is one of the few redeemable players in the current tournament, which has been a nightmare for Cruz Azul and unless a real miracle happens, they could avoid not attending the playoffs for the fifth consecutive semester.
El Chaco is already directing a Cruz Azul subsidiary school in Mexico City.
