Jalisco Loses to Cañeros de Los Mochis - Liga Mexicana del Pacífico

Jalisco Loses to Cañeros de Los Mochis

Jalisco continues without winning a series in the 2016-2017 Season of the Mexican Pacific League, this time it was Cañeros de Los Mochis who defeated them in Zapopan with a score of 5-1. In these first three series, Charros has only managed to tie with Tomateros, lose against Yaquis and now against the Mochitecan ninth.

The cane was not sweet for the locals on a night where their bats only connected a solitary home run during the nine innings of the game. Only eight hits were collected by the hitters of Homar Rojas.

First Inning

It was only in the first inning when Cañeros took advantage to put the first two runs on the scoreboard. After a sacrifice fly that brought Isaac Rodríguez home, a hit to center field by Leandro Castro brought in the second run on Juan Carlos Gamboa's spikes.

Second Inning

In the second inning, Charros' bats continued to be silent and they did not get a single man on base. On the contrary, a hit by Juan Carlos Gamboa caused the third run for the greens on Sergio García's feet.

Remaining Innings

The game went on, the game got old, and Jalisco's hitters continued to have a tough night. This, combined with Arballo's performance on the mound for the Mochis, who achieved six strikeouts in five complete innings, meant that from the third to the sixth inning, no Charro reached home plate. The second third ended with only five hits on the scoreboard for Homar Rojas' troops.

Seventh Inning

After being honored by Charros' management, Ramón Orantes entered the batter's box in the seventh inning to hit a single that sent Emmanuel Ávila home. The night was already dark for the locals, but the panorama was even more disheartening when an error by Amadeo Zazueta allowed Mochis to score for the fifth time on Leandro Castro's feet.

Charros' Sole Joy

However, in that same inning, the first and only joy came for the home crowd. In the most complicated moment of the game for Charros, Agustín Murillo hit a home run to the left field with power. The third baseman's home run was the only bright spot in Jalisco's lackluster batting.

Final Inning

To close a forgettable game for their offense, the Jalisco team left two men on base for the fourth time during the game. Now, this Friday, Charros will try to start a new series against Tomateros on the right foot, the team they defeated in the season opener.
