A young Celtic fan apologized to the club for missing a match

Last weekend, a young Celtic fan called the club to apologize for missing the last league match, as it coincided with his friend's birthday, according to the British broadcaster BBC.

Louis Kayes, a five-year-old from Moodiesburn (central Scotland), phoned the Glasgow team to ask for forgiveness for not attending Saturday's match against Motherwell (2-0).

Louis' mother, 35-year-old Lisa Kayes, told the BBC that her son had borrowed her mobile phone because he had "a bit of a guilty conscience".

"Louis was in the living room with my phone, and I heard the voicemail from Celtic Park saying 'Thank you for calling'," Lisa said, explaining that her son wanted to speak to Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers and his favorite player, captain Scott Brown, to apologize.

"He wanted to tell both of them that he had missed the match, in case they were looking for him. He's probably the most passionate five-year-old Celtic fan there is. He doesn't like missing any matches," his mother said.

"I think the Celtic-Motherwell match is the last home game he's going to miss for a long time, and I'm convinced that on Saturday afternoons, he won't do anything else," Lisa added.

Louis, who said the birthday party of his friend "wasn't bad", missed Celtic's 2-0 home victory.
