The outstanding athlete Raúl Machacuay could not complete the 21K of the Maratón RPP Scotiabank 2016. The athlete from Junín was forced to abandon the competition due to physical problems.

Machacuay, the Peruvian with the best placement (45th) in the marathon of the Olympic Games Rio 2016, was forced to leave the competition due to physical problems. However, he took the time to join RPP's broadcast along with Dante Mateo and shares his impressions of what happened.

"What happened was that last Sunday I competed in a marathon in the central jungle of Pichanaqui. I felt tired, I wanted to continue, but it is better to save energy for the next competition, which will be the Maratón de Cerro de Pasco," he said on the radio.
