In the second period, Mexico continued to dominate the game and repeated the dose against Hong Kong. With goals from Daniela Gendron, Araceli Hernández, Telma Escobedo, Daniela Gendrón's second of the night, and Joanna Rojas' third goal, Mexico went into the second break with a 10-0 lead over Hong Kong.

In the third period, Mexico did not let up and Francia Hernández scored again, followed by Giovanna Rojas making it 12-0. Claudia Téllez, player of the Inferno Calgary in Canada, appeared to secure the final 13-0 victory.

With this result, Hong Kong ended their hopes of attending Pyeongchang 2018, as they had previously fallen to Turkey as well.

Meanwhile, the Mexican team will face Turkey tomorrow at 7:00 pm at the Icedome, whom they must defeat to qualify for the next round of the Pre-Olympics, which will be held from November 3rd to 6th in Kazakhstan.
