Response of Young Baseball Players in Laguna Region to Vaqueros Laguna Try Out
The Try Out hosted by Vaqueros Laguna, a club aiming to recruit local talent for its Academy, received a great response from the young baseball players in the Laguna Region.
The Estadio Revolución served as the venue for the Try Out. The young baseball players were welcomed by the Laguna coaches, including the well-known Francisco "Chipper" Méndez. They were put to the test, these talents who aspire to reach professional baseball.
Shortly after 3:00 pm, several young players accompanied by coaches, parents, or friends arrived at the Revolución facilities in hopes of receiving an opportunity to join the Vaqueros Academy, which will begin on October 1st.
The young baseball players were evaluated by scouts and the organization's coaching staff under the supervision of David Cárdenas, the club's general manager.
Francisco Méndez, Humberto Cárdenas, Guadalupe Díaz, Francisco Rivera, and Sergio Hernández, the latter being a scout from the Chicago Cubs in Mexico, were responsible for assessing the youngsters in different skills.
A maximum of 25 boys will be selected from all the attendees, with the aim of maximizing the development of regional talents during this winter season. The preparation phase will conclude on January 31st.
The young players who become part of this academy will play against select teams from the region, as well as compete against the Pacific Baseball Academy based in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
