Medieval Combat: A Fusion of History, Culture, and Sport
At some point in our childhood, we played at being warriors from the Middle Ages, donning armor and unsheathing a sword. How many times have we watched movies like The Lord of the Rings or the spectacular Game of Thrones series and wished to be part of a battle of that magnitude?
Full contact or Medieval Combat is a contact sport with a strong historical touch that is slowly gaining importance in our country.
The 'warriors' use weapons, armor, and clothing from the medieval era. It is not a show, but a high-level fight with intense physical demands.
The battle ends when a combatant is defeated, employing various combat techniques and striking their opponent relentlessly.
It is truly a fusion of history, culture, and sport.
In our country, there are eight teams spread across different states including Querétaro, Yucatán, Jalisco, Michoacán, State of Mexico, and Mexico City.
The Medieval Mexico Festival will take place on October 1st and 2nd at the Ex-Convent of Culhuacán.
