Start of the Second Stage of the Secure Stadium Protocol
In conjunction with the president of the Liga MX, Enrique Bonilla, the head of the SSPDF, Hiram Almeida Estrada, highlighted the great importance of security in football venues internationally.
Security Protocol for Sporting Events
The head of the capital's police force stated that for each sporting event, the department evaluates and implements the Secure Stadium security protocol, which lasts approximately six hours, from the reception of fan groups to their installation and departure.
Security Conditions for Football Matches
Almeida Estrada emphasized that since March 18, 2015, when the Secure Stadium Manual was implemented in the capital, 112 football matches have been held with security conditions provided for a total of 3,152,905 people.
Agreements with Fan Group Leaders
It was highlighted that the Secretariat of Public Security (SSPDF) generates agreements and approaches with leaders of the fan groups from the three local representative teams: Pumas of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Cruz Azul, and America, who are identified with photographs, addresses, and references in case of emergency.
Adoption of Good Practices
Officials from the Honduran national football team showed interest in adopting good practices from this manual, in which officials from the capital's police force explained in detail the protocol of actions before, during, and after matches, as well as an explanation of crisis management for these types of mass events.
Observation of Security Measures
Personnel from civil protection in other stadiums in the country, as well as the security and logistics team accompanying the Honduran football team, will later attend the match that will take place at the Azteca Stadium to observe the deployment and operational actions carried out by the capital's Preventive Police.
