The holder of the Triple Crown and runner-up of the 2015 International Caribbean Classic, Huitlacoche, wants to go to the Caribbean event held in Puerto Rico in the last month of the year at the Caribbean Fellowship Cup. Today, in an excellent demonstration, he won the 14th edition of the Horse Parade Classic, as well as setting another record for Cuadra San Jorge on the Sotelo track, surpassing the imported Gone As Wind, his stablemate.

After the start signal, the record holder in this distance, Gone As Wind, quickly took the lead of the pack with the service of Silvio Amador Ruiz. Templo Maya from Cuadra G. L and El Indú from Cuadra J-A followed, while Huitlacoche was kept in fourth place.

That's how most of the mile and a sixteenth went, with Gone As Wind showing them the way. Upon entering the straight track in front of the stands, El Indú picked up the pace, pressuring the track record holder, while Huitlacoche devoured the sand with a tremendous escape on the outside. The Panamanian jockey urged his horse to win, defeating and surpassing Gone As Wind and his record with a powerful arrival at the finish line.

Huitlacoche completed the mile and a sixteenth circuit in one minute, 41 seconds, four-fifths, breaking the track record time of his teammate Gone As Wind, which was set earlier this season on July 30th, of one minute, 44 seconds, three-fifths. Gone As Wind finished far behind the winner, taking third place, while El Indú took second place and Templo Maya closed the scoreboard in fourth. Juli finished far back to occupy the last spot.

Son of Free Thinking out of Sonora Cat by Tabasco Cat, bred in Mexico by his owner at Rancho San Jorge, Huitlacoche claims his second classic of the season under the reins of Panamanian jockey José Ángel Ortega. This adds to his ten visits to the winner's circle out of 17 commitments at Loma Bonita, in addition to his seven second-place finishes. The four-year-old chestnut raises his hand to go to the Caribbean Horse Series and represent Mexico and its breeding in the Fellowship Cup.
