Agent Provocateur dominates the AQHA Juvenile Challenge

The favorite, Agent Provocateur, did not disappoint her followers as she stepped onto the arena of the Hipodromo de Las Americas with the best time in the July 24th qualifying round, clocking in at 17.298 seconds in the 350 yard (320.04m) race. This afternoon, once again ridden by Moises Gonzalez, she proved her dominance against eight contenders, including One Shining Ocean.

At the start, Enthusiastique from Cuadra Armadillo took the lead, followed by Beer Wagon from Cuadra El Mashta to fight for the top spot. Meanwhile, Agent Provocateur, who started from the ninth post position, veered to the outside of the track just meters after the start. Gonzalez managed to maintain the strength of his filly and define her trajectory at the front, crossing the finish line in first place.

The roan filly, Agent Provocateur, daughter of Walk Thru Fire out of Teller by Favored Cartel, triumphed by a neck over Beer Wagon. RG Connie My Love from Rancho Las Gaviotas settled for third place, while Enthusiastique had to settle for fourth. San Lazaro's beloved horse, ARARA, timed the 350 yards in 17.35 seconds on a fast track.

Sea Chico from Rancho San Antonio AJH, O Elizabeth from Cuadra Leny, Jess Tellim from Cuadra La Purisima del Pasaje, Jess B Impressive from Rancho El Sabino, and Queen First from Cuadra Anjor also participated in the race.

The AQHA Juvenile Challenge, for two-year-old horses, is a race corresponding to the Challenge Series, organized by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and supported in Mexico by the Mexican Quarter Horse Association (AMCM). In this edition, the race had a prize of over 600,000 pesos. Agent Provocateur, the winner of this competition, has earned her spot to participate in the fastest day of the year, scheduled for December 2016 at the Los Alamitos Racetrack in the United States.
