Carlos Zambrano leaves Eintracht Frankfurt to sign with Rubin Kazan
The national defender Carlos Zambrano left Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany to join the first division team of Russia, Rubin Kazan. This was announced by the German club through social media.
According to Radio Ovación, Carlos Zambrano and his representative Elio Casareto met on Saturday morning with the directors of Eintracht Frankfurt to agree on the payment of the release clause of the German team, which would amount to 1.5 million euros, and then sign the national defender for 6 seasons.
In his football career, Carlos 'El Kaiser' Zambrano, who debuted with the national team in 2008, played for Schalke 04, Saint Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Russian club, founded in 1936 and re-founded in 1958, played its first season in the top category in 2003 and has remained there ever since. In the 2008-2009 season, they were crowned consecutive champions in the Russian Premier League.
The team, also known as 'Volzháne', has among its achievements a Russian Cup and two Super Cups, all titles won under the direction of Gurban Berdiýew. Zambrano's new team has become a regular in European competitions since their first league championship.
