The PSG announced its first signing for the upcoming season and it will be Hatem Ben Arfa. Through their social networks, the Parisian club made the news known, "The PSG is happy to announce the signing of Hatem Ben Arfa's contract until June 30, 2018."

The offensive midfielder thus becomes Unai Emery's first signing after a great season with Nice, "The PSG always held a very special place in my heart and wearing that shirt in Parc des Princes is a dream I have pursued since childhood," he explained on the club's website.

Ben Arfa trained in the lower divisions of Clairefontaine and was hired by Olympique Lyon to be part of the youth teams when he was 15 years old. In 2004, he was promoted to the first team and signed his first professional contract. His debut came in the first match of that season against Nice and they won 1-0.

'Les Parisiens' will be the sixth team in the Frenchman's career, who, after playing for 'The Lions', was sold to Marseille (2008-11) and was on loan at Newcastle and Hull City. He spent four years at the former and six months at the latter.

Last season, Ben Arfa scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 37 matches and 3,100 minutes. According to the specialized transfer portal 'Transfermarkt', the midfielder has a market value of €10 million. His highest peak was as a Newcastle player, where he reached a value of €13.5 million.
