Tony Hawk is one of the most recognized figures in skateboarding and has amazed millions of YouTube users by showing his vitality, despite being 48 years old.
A couple of days ago, RIDE Channel, a YouTube channel dedicated to skateboarding, published a video showing Tony Hawk trying to replicate one of his great feats: the first 900-degree aerial spin recorded in the X Games.
That performance, carried out on June 27, 1999, at the world's most prestigious extreme sports competition, is one of the major milestones in the veteran skater's career. To celebrate the 17th anniversary of the achievement, he decided to do something special.
The YouTube clip shows Tony Hawk attempting the jump several times, but his attempts are unsuccessful. However, it wouldn't take too long for everything to end happily, as the skater would eventually complete the spin to the applause of the onlookers.
The video has been viewed by over 2 million YouTube users, many of whom remember the distant X Games of 1999 and hope that Tony Hawk can replicate the video later on in a future anniversary of his feat.
