Raiders defeat Rams in preseason game

In Los Angeles, the Las Vegas Raiders beat the Rams 34-17 in a game that featured quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, passer for the Raiders.

Garoppolo, who will be a starter in the 2023 season, recovered from surgery he underwent last March, which corrected an ankle injury. In the game, he completed all four passes he threw, gaining 39 yards.

With this result, the Raiders achieved their second victory of the NFL preseason, as they dominated the San Francisco 49ers in the first week of preseason.

Kansas City Chiefs crush Arizona

The reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, overwhelmed the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday with a score of 38-10 in the second week of the NFL 2023 preseason.

Patrick Mahomes shone with 105 yards and a touchdown pass in Kansas City's attack, which was number one in the NFL last season.

Mahomes' substitute, Blaine Gabbert, also stood out with two touchdown passes.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette was the standout player in the Chiefs' offense, accumulating 92 yards and a touchdown.

Earlier, the game between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers, which the Patriots were winning 21-17, was suspended in the final period due to a concussion suffered by Isaiah Bolden, a cornerback for the Patriots.

In another game, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Denver Broncos 21-20 with a field goal by rookie Jake Moody in the final seconds.

Brock Purdy started as quarterback for the 49ers, recovering from an operation on his right elbow, which he injured in the National Conference final last January.

Purdy showed confidence, completing four of five passes for 65 yards. His replacement, Sam Darnold, finished with 109 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Trey Lance, a 23-year-old quarterback competing for the starting role, closed the game for the 49ers. He ended with 173 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He led the team in the final offensive drive to a good position for the successful field goal attempt by Moody.
