The national men's basketball team wins gold in the Centrobasket Sub-17
The national men's basketball team won the gold medal yesterday, Sunday, at the Centrobasket Sub-17, held in Belize.
The Puerto Rican team defeated the Dominican Republic representation by a landslide, 106-57.
Shooting guard Charlier Torres was the best player for Puerto Rico with 23 points and three rebounds, followed by shooting guard Brandon Lee with 18.
In terms of offensive voices, small forward Isaiah Brown and point guard Yamil Rondón contributed 12 points each.
In a losing cause, Dominican guard Lucas Morillo finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
This is Puerto Rico's sixth title in the tournament's history (2007, 2009, 2001, 2015, 2021, and 2023), and the second consecutive one.
