Arnaldo Nahuel Páez, a 21-year-old rider, is crushed by his horse during a rodeo festival; waiting for information on injuries.

The young 21-year-old rider, Arnaldo Nahuel Páez, suffered serious injuries when he was crushed by his horse while participating in a festival of criollo skills in the city of Goya, Corrientes.

Páez was urgently sent to the Hospital Escuela in the City of Corrientes, where he remains hospitalized awaiting information about the injuries he may have suffered to his spine.

What happened to the rider?

Arnaldo Nahuel Páez, 21, was giving a demonstration to the public, showing all his skills to stay on the horse's back. However, at one point, the animal rose excessively and its hind legs lifted off the ground, causing it to fall on its back and crush the rider.

The horse quickly reacted and stood up almost instantly, but the rider caught his foot in one of the stirrups, so he was dragged for more than 20 meters, and several people ran to help him.

"I can't feel my feet, my waist hurts a lot," Páez told the paramedics who came to his aid, after lying on the grass of the Central Goya club.

For his part, Francisco Aguirre -one of the organizers- said that "this guy had ridden that horse before, they brought it from Santiago del Estero", referring to Arnado Nahuel and the incident he suffered.

"Riders who do horse training know that in 80 percent of the cases they will end up being hit, because the horse almost always ends up throwing off the rider," he added.

Furthermore, he reported that as part of the organization, there is an insurance for the organizers who ride and the public who attend the event, which includes a payment of up to 5 million pesos for riders who suffer "death by accident and total or partial disability due to accidents," and up to one million "for medical expenses."
